There are always various events and festivities going on in and around Borneo throughout the year as each of these states comprise of various races, hence a melting pot of cultures. Some examples would be the 5th Sabah International Folklore Festival on 18-27th July 2010, Pesta Keamatan, Pesta Kalimaran, Pesta Gawai, Rainforest World Music Festivals, Gawai Festival, Borneo Bird Festival, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya and Deepavali to name a few.

The much awaited mega event that will bring Sarawak to the frontier of global tourist attractions in 2010 is the Sarawak Rainforest Interhash 2010 that will see 5000 hashers from around the world descend to Kuching to run in the jungle and participate in the many activites to be held here.
