4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS ex Miri

Bario Highland dominated by the Kelabit tribe is situated on the northern part of Sarawak closed to the Indonesian border. The easiest way to get to Bario is by MASwings flight. Bario is famous for its Bario rice and pineapple. The cooler climate and hilly landscape combined with the friendliness of the people make this a memorable trip!

Day 1: We fly in to Bario by MasWing flight departs twice a day. At your arrival in Bario, meet Mr. Douglas the Lodge owner of De Plateau Lodge which is the appointed ground operator for Tropical Adventure. Transfer by 4x4WD to the Lodge for check-in. After Lunch walk on to the Native Market Centre and proceed on the Bario Longhouse (Bario Asal) passing through the rice fields and the Schools. Take your time to visit the Longhouse of the Kelabit Community. From there we climb up the hill at the Bario Secondary School to have a good view of the Bario Valley. Hence we return to the Lodge passing a village called Kampong Bued Main Beruh where you can visit an Art Gallery called Jungle Blues Dream Art Gallery. We overnight at De plateau Lodge. (Lunch,Dinner)

Day2:  After breakfast we trek to a village called Pa'Derung where you can find a few of the ancient burial stone. The guide will explain to you the legend of the ancient burial stone. We then return to the Lodge for late lunch. After lunch enjoy the orchid garden where you find different species of orchid and pitcher plant. We overnight at De Plateau lodge. (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner)

Day 3:  This morning we trek through the rainforest  to a village called Pa'Ukat and proceed on visit the curved rock called  Batu Narit in Pa' Umor. We pass through the Kerangas forest. The trek takes about 4 hours and late afternoon we return to the lodge for late lunch. We overnight at the lodge (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner)

Day 4: Bid farewell to the Kelabit people and transfer to the airport to check-in and depart to Miri on Maswings flight. (Breakfast)

Cost: USD206 per person based on twin share

Extension stay at USD30 per person per day with 3 meals included.

Minimum: 2 persons
 

The price includes: Airfare Miri-Bario- Miri, all transfer in Bario, Accommodation at De Plateau lodge, meals as stated, entry permit and fees, tour excursion and guide.

Not included: Alcoholic and soft drink, tipping and items not included.

Requirement for the trip:

Warm clothes, insect repellent, rucksack, torchlight, sun lotion, good trekking shoes, raincoat and hat.
