MAGIC TENYOK RIMBA 5 days 4 nights ex Miri
Borneo is one of the last of the world wild places, with its dense rainforests, tropical coastal Islands and mysterious jungle valleys. As such, it has become a rare place on this planet today; somewhere you can still encounter a rich variety of colorful and endangered wildlife, amidst amazing natural scenery. This trip to the Malaysian state of Sarawak takes you to see the last nomadic tribe of Borneo. “The Penan” An added special highlight is a couple of nights spent at the Tenyok Rimba Rainforest Lodge in the pristine rainforest of Tenyok where you can go in search of the many nocturnal creatures of the jungle. Tenyok Rainforest is still unexplored and is considered a real adventure destination. It is off-beaten trek! Day 1: Fly into Miri either on MAS flight or Air Asia. On arrival meet your guide and transfer to your own choice of accommodation. Briefing by your tour guide at your hotel lobby at 6 pm. Bring along your insurance policy and your return ticket. The tour guide will bring you to the exotic seafood restaurant or food court.
Day 2: Your adventure begins today with 4X4WD. We drive to Tenyok Rimba Forest Reserve stopping at the Kayan Village of Long Bedian on the way. Once known as fearsome warriors and headhunter but today the Kayan people are peaceful agriculturalist, although they retain many other interesting cultural traditions. Once in Tenyok Rimba, there are many options for short strolls or longer hikes of up to several hours or just enjoy the natural spa at the waterfall. At night we recommend you to do a night walk to look for nocturnal animals like mouse deer, civet cat, wild boar are common seen in this area. We overnight at the chalet. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 3: After breakfast we take the trail in Tenyok rainforest during which our guide will show you the different species of traditional medicine in the jungle that have been used as remedies by the local tribes for generations. We hike to the plateau where we put overnight at the camping ground. (4-5hrs). you are able to view the whole scenery of the Baram areas. It might be cold at night and we recommend you to bring warm clothes. Camp fire will be put up at night. Hornbills are common seen at the plateau and a swim at the Hornbill waterfall is a must. We overnight at the camping ground. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4: Early morning enjoy the spectacular sunrise and early morning bird watching at the plateau. After breakfast we return on foot to Tenyok Base camp where we stop at the different waterfall for swim and have picnic lunch. We then return to Tenyok Rimba’s Base camp and overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 5: This morning we return by 4x4WD to Miri. The journey will takes 6 hours in time for your evening flight home. For those who wish to continue the journey to Mulu National Park by 4x4WD and continue by boat to the Mulu Park an extra charges involved.
Cost per person: Usd353 per person based on twin share (Min 2 pax) The Price includes: all transfer from day 1 till last day, accommodation as stated, meals as stated, entry permit and community fees and nature guide.
Not included: alcoholic and soft drink, tipping and items not included.
Requirement for the trip: water bottle, raincoat, torchlight, insect repellent, mosquito netting at camping ground, rucksack and 1 pc of long sleeve shirt and paint for camping overnight.
